EasyTrail® Accessibility Ramp – Technical Details
EasyTrail® is a modular accessibility ramp designed to create safe and inclusive access to bathing sites and waterfronts. The system consists of 1.3 m wide and 2.5 m long sections that are delivered fully assembled from our factory in Värnamo, Sweden. Only the handrails and telescopic support legs need to be mounted on site.
During installation, the sections are carried into the water and linked together using the spring-loaded locking mechanism. When removing the ramp for winter storage, the mechanism is easily disengaged from above the water using an extension tool.
Straight Ramps
A straight configuration is suitable for gently sloping beaches where the depth reaches around 1 metre after approximately 20 metres. This is the most common setup.
Resting platforms are typically placed halfway along the ramp and again at the end. Users can turn, rest or exit at the mid-platform, which is helpful for shorter users or those who prefer to enter the water gradually. Platforms are available with an exit on either the left or right side.
Angled Ramps
If the water depth increases rapidly, an angled configuration is recommended.
The ramp extends straight out until the depth reaches around 1 metre, where it then turns left or right. Using the telescopic legs, the slope can be evenly distributed over the total length (typically just over 20 metres), ensuring a safe and comfortable gradient.
Key Features
 |
- A spring-loaded locking mechanism makes it easy to connect the sections in the water. The mechanism can be disengaged from above the surface.
- A raised edge, 120 mm high on both sides of the ramp, prevents wheelchairs from rolling off.
- The walking surface is made of 3 mm grooved aluminium decking, providing excellent grip.
|
 |
-
The upper handrail is positioned 900 mm above the walking surface, while the lower handrail is placed at 700 mm. There is a 45 mm clearance between the lower handrail and the vertical post for safe hand placement.
-
Handrails at the exit points are painted in a yellow contrast colour for increased visibility.
- Fittings at both the entrance and exit allow wheelchairs and crutches to be safely secured.
